Personal Wellness and Burnout Prevention Workshops: 15-Minute Beginnings
15-Minute Beginnings workshops are often delivered as one-hour workshops in the workplace, tailored to the needs of the specific workplace. Common groups who find this workshop helpful include health care providers, teachers, parents, and others in caregiving roles. That said, the issue of self-care and burnout prevention is of concern to many groups, and each workshop is tailored to the needs of the specific audience.
A typical one-hour workshop includes:
An introduction to the concept of self-care
A brief exploration of the crucial role of self-care in providing care for others (including some reflection on my own experiences with this personally and professionally)
A simple framework for considering self-care
Practical examples of self-care possibilities, including short optional guided exercises in meditation and gentle stretching
Brief reflective and discussion time
As facilitator, I am available afterward for brief one-to-one discussions, as needed.
15-Minute Beginnings is also offered in a full-day workshop format, which includes:
The one-hour workshop above plus two breakout sessions with choices of:
Reflective writing
Introduction to Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction
Introduction to restorative yoga
The day-long format also includes a large group reflection that brings it all together so participants feel confident about taking self-care home, and it closes on an uplifting and meaningful note.
